Do I need to be a licensed esthetician or nurse to take The Skin + Light laser courses?

It is NOT necessary to be an esthetician or nurse to take any of our courses.

I am not great at taking tests and school in general. Can I do this?

Absolutely! If you have a willingness to learn and are committed to earning your certifications then you can do this. We also want you to know this is a different kind of school. This is FUN! Our students look forward to their school days with us. You will be learning treatments that are exciting so it doesn’t really feel like school in the traditional way. Our instructors are nice and they genuinely care about their students. It is also an incredibly positive environment where questions are welcomed and you can build confidence while learning.

Will I get hands-on experience with real models?

Yes! We pride ourselves on providing more hands-on training time than any competitor in the marketplace. This is a real difference maker because you will graduate with confidence in providing safe effective treatments and that only happens when you get practice treating over and over again.

Does the school provide job placement assistance?

The Skin + Light Institute has relationships with med spas, plastic surgeons and dermatologists across the area. These businesses know they can depend on well-trained educated students when they have been trained with us. We prepare our students for interviewing, help them create an impressive resume and give them soft skills that help them land their dream job.

How long do the courses take to complete?

Fast Track: 56 hours

The Perfect Provider: 208 hours

The Elite Business Builder: 250 hours

What kind of equipment will I be learning on?

The Skin + Light Institute trains on equipment that is the gold standard. It’s important that you work with the kind of equipment in school that is actually used in the marketplace.

What are the different levels of State certifications?

Laser Hair Removal Apprentice: Basic certification. Apprentices cannot treat without being supervised
Laser Hair Removal Technician: Includes 100 hands-on procedures. Included for all our graduates.
Senior Laser Technician: Earned by supervising another technician for 100 body parts. Included with Perfect Provider.
Laser Hair Removal Professional: Highest certification. Requires a state exam (taken onsite at our school). Included with Elite Business Builder.
